New Delhi: Praising initiatives taken based on new national education policies to conduct engineering courses in maternal and local language, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was pleased that 14 universities in eight countries would begin learning in five Indian languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu , Marathi and Bangla.
The pilot project will be launched during the 2021-22 academic session.
At a function to mark one year NEP 2020, Modi on Thursday said, “The tool has been developed to translate engineering courses in 11 languages.
This is an emphasis on maternal language because the teaching media will instill confidence in students from poor backgrounds, rural and tribal.
Even in basic education Mother’s language being promoted and the Vidya Pravesh program, launched today, will play a big role in that matter.
“PM also said that the NEP 2020 was one of the main factors in” Maha Yagna “(great exercise) of the nation’s development.
Launched 10 initiatives under NEP 2020, Modi highlighted the openness and absence of pressure in the policy and said that it would also be revealed “making new India”.
