Jhansi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday submitted a sophisticated ‘Shakti’ electronic war system to the Indian Navy in the city of Uttar Pradesh Jhansi.
Shakti is intended for interception, detection, classification, identification, and jam from conventional and modern radar.
It was developed by Defense Research and Development Organization (DROD) for kancpun Indian Navy.
The Prime Minister also presented a miniature model of the Shakti EW system to the Navy Chief of Staff at Jhansi fortress under the ongoing three days of ‘Raksha PARV’, which will conclude today.
“Shakti will add to the ability of naval electronic intelligence for early warning, defend itself against missile attacks, intelligence, supervision and reconnaissance for the awareness of the maritime domain and ensure electronic dominance on the maritime battlefield,” announced in the event.
Twelve Shakti Systems, developed by Defense Electronics Research Laboratory Drdo, are in production at Bharat Electronics Ltd.
Trusted with more than fifty MSMEs with a total cost of 1,805 crores, officials known as developments.
“The first Shakti system has been installed on the vessel ins Visakhapatnam and the second Shakti system is being installed on an indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant,” said the officials “further, the system is scheduled to be installed on the capital rust ship below P-15B, P- 17A and talwar class follow-up, “added official.
In the pursuit of constant search to improve the EW system capabilities, officials said that the Shakti system would replace the original generation EW system.
According to officials, Shakti is the actual symbol of Atmanirbhar Bharat in the sophisticated defense technology.
The prime minister also submitted Drdo designed and Bharat Electronics Limited (bell) produced by advanced EW Suite for naval ships including the carrier of Indian Vikrant aircraft.
The sophisticated ew suite will be used on different naval ships including destroyers, frigates, etc.
And mark big steps towards ‘aatmanirbhar bharat’.
