Ranchi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated a museum in Ranchi for the memory of the tribal freedom that Birsa Birsa Munda, known as Dharti Aaba.
Overcoming a virtual meeting, the Prime Minister said Dharti Aaba did not live very long but he wrote a complete history for the country and gave direction to the future generation of India.
Wage efforts, Modi said he fought against the ideology that wanted to erase the identity of Indian tribal community.
“Bhagwan Birsa knows that attacking diversity in the name of modernity, damaging the ancient identity and nature is not the way for the welfare of the community.
He supported modern education, he suggested a change, he showed the courage to speak against the shortcomings of his own society,” Prime Minister said.
Said the award to citizens and tribal communities, Modi dedicated Birsa Munda Munda Udyan and Museum to the nation.
The Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren, Minister of Arjun Munda and the former Chief Minister of Babulal Marandi was among those present on the occasion, held on Jharkhand Stathshood Day.
The museum is located in an old middle prison in Ranchi where tribal icons have breathed.
Statue as high as 25 feet from Munda has been installed.
This project has been developed in connection with the Jharkhand government, said the Prime Minister’s office.
It shows the way tribes struggling to protect their forests, land rights, their culture and show their courage and sacrifice, which is important for the construction of the nation, PMO said.
Along with Munda, the museum will also highlight tribal freedom fighters such as Buddy Bhagat, Sidhu-Kanhu, Nilambar-Pambar, Diwa-Kisun, Telanga Khadiya, Munda Style, Jatra Bhagat, Poto H, Bhagirath Manjhi and Ganga Narayan Singh.
Memorial Park has been developed at 25 hectares of adjacent soil, and has fountains, food court, children’s garden, an infinity pool, garden and other entertainment facilities.
