New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched a vehicle scrappage policy and said that the policy was an important milestone in the Indian development journey.
He urged youth and start-up to join this program.
“The launch of the current vehicle scrappage policy is an important milestone in the Indian development journey.
The investor summit in Gujarat to prepare the scrapping infrastructure vehicle opened up a new range.
I will ask for our youth and beginner to join this program,” Tweeted PM Modi.
He further said that used vehicles will help remove unworthy vehicles and pollute in an environmentally friendly way.
“Scrapping vehicles will help remove unworthy vehicles and pollute environmentally friendly.
Our aim is to create a decent #Circulareconomy and bring value for all stakeholders while responsible in the environment,” he added.
Vehicle scrapping policies are intended to create an eco system to remove vehicles that are not feasible and pollute in a way that is environmentally friendly and safe.
This policy intends to create scrapping infrastructure in the form of automatic testing stations and registered vehicle cutting facilities throughout the country.
During the launch, the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that around 1 crore vehicle there was no valid fitness.
He also said that the policy was based on fitness and not the age of the vehicle.
The Prime Minister stated that the scrappage policy would help modernize the vehicle fleet and will ensure the science disposal of the old pollution vehicles.
The vehicle scrapping policy is a step to produce wealth from waste, PM Modi added.
