Jhansi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday Put Stone Foundation Project Defense Industry Corridor Uttar Pradesh worth 400 crores in Jhansi.
The Prime Minister put the foundation stone from significant projects that were widely awaited at the three-day Conclusion ‘Rashtra Raksha Samarpan Parv’ organized by the Ministry of Defense (MOD) along with the Government of Uttar Pradesh in this city.
The center has decided to establish two corridors of the defense industry in the country – one in Tamil Nadu and the others in Uttar Pradesh.
Defense Industry Corridor Uttar Pradesh has a node in Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Lucknow and Kanpur.
For Jhansi’s knot from the Defense Industry corridor Uttar Pradesh, the state government has produced almost 1,034 hectares of available land.
Bharat Dynamics Ltd., the defense public sector business (DPSU), is preparing a factory for the propulsion system for anti-tank guide missiles in Jhansi’s knot.
It will be spread over 183 hectares of land in Jhansi.
This facility will involve the investment of Rs 400 Crores.
This project is expected to provide direct employment to 150 people and indirect work up to almost 500 people.
In addition, the prime minister dedicated and launched several new mod to state initiatives in a large ceremony held in the Benteng Jhansi area.
The Ministry of Defense has taken several steps to promote ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ in defense in the past two years.
This includes a positive indigenization list problem, records 64 percent of the capital procurement budget for the domestic industry, startup promotion under innovation for defense innovation excellence (IDX), accelerating the process of capital acquisition and establishing a defense industry corridor among others.
As a push demonstration on ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, the Indian Army, the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy adopted a platform designed and illegally developed for its use.
Three platforms were officially submitted by the Prime Minister to each Head of Service at the event.
These platforms illustrate the maturity of the Indian Defense Industry Ecosystem with contributions from the Organization of Research and Defense Development (Drdo), DPSUS and Defense and Startup Industry.
