PM Modi Meets European Council President and European Commission

Rome: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday held a meeting with European Council President Charles Michel and European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen here and discussed ways to improve community relations and people aimed at creating a better planet.
This is the first official involvement of Prime Minister Modi after he arrived here to participate in the G20 Summit in which he would join other leaders in discussions about the global economic and health recovery of Covid-19, climate development and climate change.
“Official involvement in Rome began with productive interactions with @eucoprresident Charles Michel and @vonderleyen, President @eu_Commission.
The leaders discuss ways to improve economic relations and people-to-people aimed at creating a better planet,” said the Prime Minister’s office in a tweet.
India-EU bilateral relations back to the early 1960s with India are among the first countries to build diplomatic relations with the European Economic Community in 1962.
The first Indian-EU Summit took place on June 28, 2000 in Lisbon and marked the watershed in it evolution connection.
The relationship was enhanced to ‘strategic partnerships’ during the Indian-EU summit held in 2004 in the Hague.
