New Delhi: Limizing a personal touch with the interaction of his future with the Indian Paralympic contingent at his official residence on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi individually spoke to every athlete and their coach.
In addition to their performance and podium, PM asks players about their family members and how they contribute to making them a successful athlete.
There are emotional moments because players share about their family members, who work hard to make them reach the international level.
When PM met with badminton coach, Gaurav Khanna, he told him, “Your Gaurav has a lot of Gaurav for India!” Khanna told PM that Tokyo Paralympics ended on September 5, and India’s success in Badminton was like a teacher’s day prize for her.
Even though India had a record of catching medals, athletes told PM that they were not satisfied and they wanted more medals in 2024 Paris.
“Every athlete is Indian champions and pride,” Modi said and asked them to look out of victory and losses.
Palak Kohli badminton player said that previous people only sympathized with the players while there was now a spirit of pride that people saw the athletes.
Para-Shooter Deepak Saini said PM steps to call teenagers specifically ‘Divyang’ have helped change public perceptions of persons with disabilities.
Similar sentiment was used by EKTA Bhyan who said that more thoughts were lower athletes but now, people discussed their exploits in the sports arena.
PM said their achievements would significantly encourage the moral of all sports communities in this country, and beginner sports people would feel encouraged to advance to take sports.
“Your spirit and independence cannot be praised in connection with opportunities that cannot be overcome so that athletes of the athletes overcome their lives,” Modi said.
The athletes thanked PM at the invitation.
Some gifted sports equipment were signed to PM.
Steal, signed by all medals, also talented PM.
