Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Lucknow on Sunday morning to pay respect to the leader of the Senior Party Kalyan Singh who died after a prolonged illness on Saturday night.
PM, accompanied by BJP President JP Nadda, reached Leanow at 10:35 a.m.
and went straight to Singh’s residence, where his body was taken from the hospital.
“This is a great moment of sadness for all of us.
Kalyan Singh Ji named Kalyan by his parents and he spent his life to fulfill his name.
Throughout his life he worked before Jan Kalyan or the welfare of the community.
He lived for Jan Kalyan and made it a mantra.
He dedicated everything to BJP , Bharatiya Jan Sangh and headed for a bright future in the country, “he said.
PM adds that the name Singh has become synonymous with faith.
He was a committed decision maker and was an inspiration in whatever role he gave, both from MLA or in the government and also as governor, PM said, added that the only way to capture his dreams and fulfill his dreams.
On Sunday morning, RSS Secretary General Dattatreya Hosable, Head of BSP Mayawati and several Senior BJP leaders saluted Singh.
Uni Defense Minister Rajnath Singh also visited his residence in the morning.
Singh’s body was taken to Lok Bhawan in the afternoon from where he shifted to the party headquarters.
The source said that he would be flown to Aligarh after 3pm in the air ambulance for his final rights to be held on Monday.
Chairman of the Minister of Yogi Adityanath will accompany him on his last trip.
The state government has declared the grief of the country three days while August 23, funeral day, has been declared a national holiday.
