PM Modi pays tribute to Laxman on the birthday of the birth of 100th artist

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday Paid rent to the legendary cartoonist RK Laxman on the birthday of the 100th birth, said the cartoon “beautifully conveyed the socio-political reality at the time”.
Laxman, the ‘ordinary person’ who signed social and political comments Times and Regal readers from the Times of India and other publications for almost seven decades, died in January 2015 at Pune at the age of 93 years.
“On the 100th birthday of birth, given the versatile Laxman RK.
Through the cartoon, he beautifully delivered the socio-political reality at that time,” Modi Tweeted.
Along by posting a Tweet in Laxman’s memory, Modi also shared a video that featured a speech made in 2018, when he released the ‘Laxman Abadi’ book, where he said Laxman’s cartoon was no less than a lesson in sociology.
“Laxman is not just an individual.
He is an idea that lives in the crores of ordinary people,” Modi said.
At the event, PM also suggested that a university in Maharashtra must conduct research or case studies on the impact of ‘ordinary people’ of Laxman to the community and mind.
Legendary cartoonists are often referred to as ‘Piper Piper of Delhi’ and Independent Indian Conscience Goalkeeper, famous for creating artwork including sketches from TV ‘Malgudi Days’ which was written by his brother RK Narayan.
His career, spread seven decades, began as a cartoonist who did part-time work for local newspapers and magazines.
Then he started the daily comic strip ‘you said’ for the Times of India.
