New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday set a target to ‘independent energy’ in 2047 through a mixture of electricity mobility, gas-based economy, ethanol doping in gasoline and made the country for hydrogen production.
Submitting the address of the independence day of the red fortress, he said India spent more than Rs 12 lakh crore on energy imports every year.
“For advanced India, for Atmanirbhar Bharat, energy independence is a clock call,” he said.
“India must take a promise that it will be an independent energy in the year we celebrate 100th independence.” The roadmap for it is to increase the use of natural gas in the economy, establishing a CNG network and natural gas tissue pipes throughout the country, combining 20 percent of ethanol in gasoline and electricity mobility, he said.
This country has reached a 100 gigawatt target with renewable energy capacity in front of the target, Modi added.
