New Delh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will put a new university foundation stone named after Freedom Fighter King Mahendra Pratap Singh State University in Aligarh, followed by his address on that occasion.
The new university aims to meet old demand for state universities in the region.
PM Modi will also visit the Aligarh node exhibition model of the Uttar Pradesh Defense Industry Corridor and King Mahendra Pratap Singh State University.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Minister Dinesh Sharma said that by establishing a state university in the name of King Mahendra Pratap Singh, the government paid tribute to a man who devoted more than three decades of his life to live in exile and fight for Indian freedom.
King Mahendra Pratap Singh plays an important role in establishing various educational institutions including pioneering technical colleges in Mathura, Sharma said.
The establishment of a state university in his name in Lodha has been “widely welcomed by people in this region because it will provide a big boost for education in Aligarh and the surrounding district”.
Sharma said that for the past four years, the Yogi Aditentalath government had established 11 new universities in the state.
The defense industry exhibition model founded by the Defense Industry corridor in Uttar Pradesh was announced by PM Modi when inaugurated the investor summit in Lucknow on February 21, 2018.
A total of 6 nodes – Aligarh, Kotpur, Chitrakoot, Jhansi and Lucknow – had been planned in the Defense Industry corridor.
In the Aligarh node, the land allocation process has been completed and the land has been allocated for 19 companies, which will invest RS 1,245 crore in the node.
Defense Industry Corridor Uttar Pradesh will help in making the country independently in the field of defense production and promoting ‘Make In India’.
