New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first global innovation summit from the pharmaceutical sector on Thursday through video conferencing.
The Office of the Prime Minister (PMO) said this was a typical initiative that aimed to unite the main stakeholders of India and internationally from the government, industry, academics, investors, and researchers to discuss and priority strategies to foster an innovation ecosystem that developed in this sector.
It will also highlight opportunities in the Indian pharmaceutical industry that has enormous growth potential.
The two-day summit will have 12 sessions and more than 40 national and international speakers who negotiate on various subjects, including the regulatory environment, funds for innovation, industrial-academic collaboration, and innovation infrastructure, PMO said.
It will witness the participation of leading members of the domestic and global pharmaceutical industry, officials, investors and researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), John Hopkins Institute, the AHMedabad Institute of India (IIM) and other leading institutes, he added.
