New Delhi: Congress demanded on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologized to the State and Supreme Court to block Delhi’s border and caused discomfort for people, and asked when he continued to blame the farmers.
Randeep Surjewala Congress spokesman said it was now clear that it was not a farmer but the police who had blocked the Delhi border.
He also targeted Minister Haryana Manohar’s head Lal Khattar while quoting a media report who said there was talk to open the border of Tikri after 11 months, because Delhi police had released the barricade there.
The report also said the plan was being carried out to open Rohtak highway for traffic.
“Bandhjeevi Modiji / Khattarji, our points have now been proven that for 11 months, the Delhi border has been blocked by your police and not by farmers,” Surjewala said in a tweet in Hindi.
“Apologize to the people and the Supreme Court to mislead the country and cause discomfort for them.
Until when will you continue to slander farmers for your vanity and failure?” Secretary General of the Congress asked.
The Delhi border has been barricastered for almost the past year, since farmers launched protests against three new agricultural laws at the center.
