PM Narendra Modi praised the IIT-BHU alumni for a donation of $ 1 million to improve academic activities

Varanasi: Alumnus IIT (BHU), Jay Chaudhry, has attracted the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to donate $ 1 million to the alma mater mater to create a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem at the Institute.
In the latest episode ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on Sunday, PM mentioned the Chaudhry donation.
Besides Chaudhry, some other alumni also contribute generously to their alma mater for various academic purposes.
“Jay Chaudhary, Bhu alumnus, contributed a million dollars, me., About seven and half crore rupees for IIT BHU Foundation.
In our country there are many people who have various fields that fulfill their responsibilities to the community by helping others.
I am very Glad that such efforts look continuous in the field of higher education, especially in our different IIT, “said PM in ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
Chaudhry is the founder of the Zscaler Cloud-based information security company.
Donation will fund the IIT Entrepreneurship Center (BHU) with a focus on developing students, faculty development and entrepreneurship development.
With its donors, the software innovation center will be established which will provide a platform where students will be able to learn and innovate in the field of software development, quantum computing, cyber security, IOT and data analysis.
In the past five months, IIT (BHU) has received a contribution of $ 4.3 (more than Rs.
32.23 Crore) from its alumni.
In September 2021, IIT (BHU) received a $ 1.3 million prize from the alumni of Ramesh Srinivasan to build the Student Activity Center (Sports) at the Institute, while in November 2021 other alumni, Nikesh Arora, empowered the IIT (BHU) Foundation with US contributions $ 2 million.
Before Chaudhry, Nikesh Arora, Graduates and CEO of the Cybersecurity Leader Palo Alto Networks, blessed the foundation of the IIT (BHU) with a donation of $ 2 million in November 2021.
Donation will cause funding access funds, allowing scholarships for students who are not served by students to attend the Institute.
Nikesh Arora graduated from IIT (BHU) in 1989 with a degree in electrical and electronic engineering.
He joined the Palo Alto network as chairman and CEO in June 2018.
Before joining the Palo Alto network, Nikesh served as President and Chief Operating Officer Softbank Group Corp.
in September 2021, Ramesh Srinivasan contributed $ 1.3 million to build a student activity center ( Sports) at the Institute.
Ramesh Srinivasan, who graduated from IIT (BHU) in 1982, was President & CEO AgilySys.
The donation will be used to establish the Student Activity Center (SAC) for students who benefit the students and faculties of campus.

Pramod Kumar Jain expressed gratitude to alumni for generous donations.
“Last year we formed an IIT-BHU foundation in the US with the support of five alumni.
Now, the results of this effort are encouraging.
So far we have received support of $ 4.3 million from alumni.
We hope this foundation will work hard.
