New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached New Delhi after concluding his five-day foreign visit to Italy and England on Wednesday where he increases the renewable energy commitment stated in COP26 in Glasgow and describes the global position on the global Summit.
At the Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow, PM Modi delivered a “semen” statement in the 26th session of the Parties’ Conference (COP26) and highlighting the reach and depth of climate action taken by India along with the aim in the future has set for itself .
During the COP26 address on Monday, the Prime Minister Modi announced five “Amrit Tatva” including the target to achieve zero emissions in 2070.
He stated that India would increase its capacity of non-fossil energy capacity to 500 gw and fulfilled 50 percent of its energy requirements through energy Renewable in 2030.
Highlighting India’s efforts to combat climate change, PM Modi states that India is the only major economy that has worked and delivered on Paris’s commitment both in letters and spirits.
He also participated in rebuilding world events (B3W) and establishing stress in four aspects of infrastructure creation including sustainable and transparent finance that respect the territorial sovereignty and integrity of all countries.
Then on Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Modi and British Prime Minister Johnson launched infrastructure for Tangguh Island initiatives (Iris) in Glasgow.
The launch is part of the Indian-English coalition for the Tanggal Disaster Infrastructure (CDRI).
PM Modi also attended the infrastructure launch event for tough island countries and announced that the Indian space research organization (ISRO) will build a special data window for developing small islands (SIDS) for timely information about cyclones, monitoring reefs, monitoring coastline via satellite.
The 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP26) was the first major peak held physically, where more than 120 countries participated after the Pandemic Covid-19.
PM Modi also held various bilateral meetings with several state heads on the sidelines of the G20.
He met German Chancellor Dr.
Angela Merkel, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi, Pope Francis, European Council President Charles Michel, European Commission President, Ursula Von Der Leyen.
In Rome, the Prime Minister also met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
The prime minister also met with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Emmanuel Macron and the two leaders expressed satisfaction in the state of the broad Indian-France strategic partnership.
