Lucknow: Purvanchal 341-km freeway, which connects Lucknow with Ghazipur, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, just a few months before the crystal assembly election.
It will be the longest operational toll road in India, overtaking Agra-Lucknow Expressway, which is 301 km long.
PM Modi is scheduled to arrive on the Hercules C-130J transport aircraft which will land on a 3.2 km long runway that was built on a stretch of Kurebhar access to the freeway in Sultanpur and will dedicate the project to people almost three years after putting the foundation on 14 July 2018, in Azamgarh.
The Purvanchal Expressway project was launched to spur development in the eastern region to the top which has been lagging behind in infrastructure and industrialization.
Experts say toll roads can give BJP excellence over political rivals in the eastern region to the top which also consists of PM Modi parliamentary constituencies from Varanasi and Politics of Yogi Gorakhpur’s political page.
Starting from Chand Sarai Village at Lucknow-Sultanpur Road (NH-731) in Lucknow, Toll Road Passing Seven Districts – Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh and Want – Before ending in Haidariya Village at National Highwayiya 19 in Ghazipur , only 18 km from the up-bihar border.
“Express road has become a state government dream and cm of Yogi Adityanath All preparations for the inauguration by the Prime Minister have finished, he added.
CM Yogi on Monday has an inspection from the inauguration ceremony site.
The inauguration will also witness the landing of fighter aircraft at 3.2 km long and 34 mt wide emergency air strips in Sultanpur.
Built with an estimated cost of 22,496 crore (including land costs), the toll road has eight packages.
Upeida officials said the tender received was around 5.19% less than the estimated cost, producing profits around Rs 614 Crore to the authorities.
Expressway six lines (can be expanded to eight lanes) have 18 flyovers, seven Robs and 271 underpasses.
According to the Upteida document, the work prepares eight toilet blocks and four gas stations are ongoing.
In the event of an accident, a total of 16 ambulances (each of each in each package) will be available for quick assistance and fast transportation that is injured to the nearest hospital.
The toll road will provide very much needed connectivity from the eastern region to the state capital and then to Delhi through Lucknow-Agra Expressway and Yamuna Expressway.
The state government also plans to establish 21 industrial points in the interior of the toll road in an area of 9,171 hectares.
The state government has identified the handloom industry, food processing unit, storage plant, bath and milk-based industry for this purpose.
Opportunities will also be available for the establishment of industrial training institutions, the Institute of Education and Training, medical institutions along the toll road.
