New Delhi: 13th Brics Summit (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) Under Indian leadership will take place on September 9.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the 13th edition of the Summit virtually.
This is the third time India will host Summit BRICS after 2012 and 2016.
The meeting will be attended by Brazilian President Jair Bolsanaro; Russian President Vladimir Putin; Chinese President XI Jinping; and South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa.
Indian national security adviser, Ajit Doval; New development bank president Marcos Troyjo; Pro Tempore Chair of the Brics Business Council, Shri Onkar Kanwar; and Pro Tempore Chair of the Women’s BRICS Business Alliance, Dr.
Sangita Reddy, will present a report about the results chased this year under each track to the leaders, during the Summit.
The theme of the peak of this Summit Theme is ‘BRICS @ 15: Intra-brics cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus’.
India has outlined four priority areas for its leadership: reform of multilateral systems, counter-terrorism, using digital tools and technology to achieve SDG, and increase the exchange of people-to-people.
In addition, leaders will also exchange views on the impact of Covid-19 pandemics and current global and regional problems.
This is the second time the Prime Minister Modi will lead Summit BRICS.
Previously, he had led the Goa Summit in 2016.
Chairman of India Brics this year coincided with the fifteen anniversary of BRICS, as reflected in the theme for the Summit.
