LONDON: England made progress against Omicron and was looking at reducing the isolation period to five days, said Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday, even though he warned the number of cases of Covid-19 who was inpatient increasing.
Asked about cutting the isolation period from seven days to five days, he said: “We saw that.” But he added that the government would follow science.
“We must ensure that we see Omicron.
We make great progress,” Johnson said in a broadcast clip.
“(But) 18,000 people with Covid are currently in hospitals, which are massive, and the number increases,” he said, adding that maybe 30% of those people had been infected in the hospital.
