PM-Pope meets bringing hope to loyal

Ranchi: Missionaries in Jharkhand are optimistic that the meeting of Minister of Narendra Modi’s Prime Minister with Pope Francis at the Vatican in Rome on Saturday will lead the initial trust, cooperation and inclusive for them in India.
The missionaries also hoped that the meeting would end the “smear campaign” and “witch-hunting” to those allegedly by BJP and other right-wing groups, which they said often accused the church leaders forcibly changed tribes.
On several occasions, the church has raised intolerance problems in countries ruled by BJP.
In Jharkhand, where Sarna and Non-Sarna (Christian Advisasis) is always a debatable problem, the previous BJP government between 2014 and 19 led by Raghubar Das has been very critical of the missionaries and carries anti-conversion laws after accusing them to cheat poor tribes and illiterate.
The BJP regime even ordered a probe on various entities led or owned by missionary organizations to hinder foreign funding.
In the middle of the background of the problem in recent years, PM meeting with the Pope was seen as a great curiosity.
Speaking with Toi, Bishop Help Ranchi, Theodore Mascarenhas, said, “Not only for the Church but we hope the meeting is fruitful for the whole nation.
We don’t know the two great leaders discussed behind the door closed, but we hope that when our prime minister Back, it will set a new start where India once again became a champion of love, tolerance, and peace.
We also hope that it brings him the determination to bring us back to the fold where everyone respects each other.
All of these traits always become Our tradition in this country.
“Mascarenhas, who is also a spokesperson for Ranchi’s diocese, stated that PMO had contacted his office before Rome Modi’s visit to the pointer with the Pope.
“We thank you for that,” he said.
He added that the Christian community always loves peace and demands that all dharamantaran problems (conversions) are often swept by “some power” need to stop.
“While some call it a witch-hunting, I often call it persecution.
I am sure the Holy Father (Pope Francis) will express any concern which is required to be raised before PM and the meeting will be for everyone’s progress.
Since our end, we consider PM We as a balanced person, who talked about Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas.
In that context, we hope the meeting will help stop all negatives around us to a certain extent, “he said, adding that the Christian community was only looking for freedom to serve people -People in this country have done that for centuries.
In particular, PM was on a two-day visit to Rome for the G20 Summit at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.
Besides Modi, many other leaders of the G20 countries meet whales separately.
PM will also go to Glasgow in England for a COP26 meeting from Rome.
