‘PM Positive about establishing medical colleges in Jamium’

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Positive about the regulation of medical colleges in Jamia Millia Islamia, Deputy Chancellor of the University of Najma Akhtar has said.
The university has sent a proposal to the government for the same thing and is waiting for a nod before the details can be done, Akhar said in a statement after the meeting with PM on Wednesday.
“We have written to the Ministry of Education about medical college settings and now the ball is in their court.
Interaction with PM is very positive.
He said that it would be a good step if medical college can be arranged and he will see what can be done.
We have sent proposals to the Ministry but they have not responded.
So the government must first give permission and then we can move forward with other structures and modalities, “he said.
This is the second meeting between PM and JMI VC in the past two years.
In December last year, JMI received A ++ accreditation by national assessment and accreditation board (NAAC).
“PM is fully aware of the type of work Jamia as a university is doing and very appreciative.
Overall, it is a very good and useful meeting.
It is very encouraging for us to know that PM is pleased about increasing the performance of universities in recent years,” Akhtar said.
Previously, the University said that PM urged Akhtar to work more about increasing the education of Muslim women and towards the implementation of new education policies (NEP), 2020.
“Deputy Chancellor ensured the prime minister that he would work hard to fulfill his expectations to realize the transformation of the nation desired, “Jmi said.
