PM Rally canceled as a 95% empty seat: Assam Cong Backs Punjab Unit

Guwahati: The Assam Congress stood with solidarity with the Punjab government led by Congress even after security violations leading to the cancellation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed events in Ferozepur.
PCC President Bhupen Kumar Borah and Lok Sabha MP Pradyut Bordoloi at the conference here on Thursday said the center tried to corner the Punjab government, citing violations of the protocol, but the leaders of the Congress said the reason behind the cancellation of the rally was that 95% of the meeting seat was seated empty, which will change the address into a failure show.
“Maybe PM doesn’t want a red facident to attend a meeting that is rejected by ordinary people and farmers,” Bordoloi said.
He added that the Punjab government did not leave a gap and wholeheartedly conveyed responsibility to extend the security closed PM.
“When farmers and ordinary people came out spontaneously out and boycotted the meeting, PM advisors and he himself decided to cancel the tour,” Bordoloi said.
“Even after extending government facilities, pumping big money and acquiring hundreds of buses by the BJP Punjab unit, the people boycotted meetings,” he said the road to the PM convoy.
