BHUBANESWAR: PM Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered Odisha-born Gujarat-cadre IAS officer, Guruprasad Mohapatra, who died of Covid complications in New Delhi recently.
In his Mann Ki Baat programme, the Prime Minister also hailed Mohapatra, who was the Union secretary of the department of promotion of industry and internal trade (DPIIT), for performing his duties even after he had tested positive.
“Guruprasad ji was admitted to hospital after he was found to be Covid positive.
But that did not keep him from performing his official duties.
He worked day and night to enhance the oxygen-producing capacities of the country and to ensure that oxygen reached far-flung areas.
He also kept managing the affairs of the court and dealing with the pressures of the media.
He kept fighting on many fronts,” Modi said.
He added that even after being told not to join duty, Mohapatra used to insist on attending video conferences to monitor the supply of oxygen in the country.
