Rajkot: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reviewed the progress of the Light House Rajkot (LHP) project through a virtual meeting held on Saturday.
Besides Rajkot, PM reviewing the other five LHP works – which he has confirmed in January this year – using a drone camera.
Under the 1,144 affordable house project was being built in the smart city of Raiya.
LHP in Rajkot is being built with the technology of French monolithic concrete construction using the formwork tunnel to build affordable homes and more able to withstand natural disasters.
In this technology the casting walls and slabs are carried out simultaneously that allows the construction of three units in just one day.
Last year the Ministry of Housing and Urban had initiated the Global Housing Technology Challenge (GHTC) -India for the construction of a more affordable house.
Under GHTC-India, 54 technologies from all over the world are selected for their suitability with Indian conditions.
Of the six different technologies implemented for the construction of LHP in Rajkot, Lucknow, Rachi, Agartala, Indore and Chennai.
Beneficiaries of the Rajkot LHP will be given ownership of homes next year.
The total cost of the project is Rs 118 Crore and the unit will be allocated for economically weaker societies.
