PM Modi thus becomes the first PM PM to lead the Open UNCC debate.
During his opening statement, PM was called the “Joint Heritage” Oceans & described the maritime route as a “outline of international trade.” Here are important points of the address: – * This ocean is very important for the future of our planet.
This joint legacy of us (ocean) faces several types of challenges.
The maritime route is misused for piracy and terrorism.
* Hipprance for maritime trade can damage the global economy.
* For maritime security, I want to submit 5 basic principles – 1) Barriers to maritime trade are free to build legitimate trade.
2) Settlement of maritime disputes must be peace and on the basis of international law.
3) responsible maritime connectivity must be encouraged.
4) The need for collectively combating maritime threats caused by non-state actors and natural disasters.
5) We must preserve the maritime environment and maritime resources.
* India has taken several steps to improve regional cooperation regarding maritime security, becoming the first respondent in dealing with maritime disasters.
* We want to make an inclusive framework for maritime security in our region based on Sagar’s vision (security and growth for all in the region).
This vision for maritime domains is safe, safe, and stable.
* We must remember fiscal sustainability, state capacity while building infrastructure projects to increase maritime trade.
