Ferozepur: The Supreme Court appointed the five member committee led by former APEX Judge Indu Malhotra arrived here on Sunday to investigate alleged security violations during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Punjab last month.
The committee visited the wooden road near Piarreana Village on Jalan Ferozepur-Moga, where the convoy of the prime minister was still trapped for almost 20 minutes on 5.
The team lived there for almost half an hour to check the site.
In addition, the team visited the Rally and Ferozeshah village site to take a stock of the sequence of events that took place on that day.
The convoy of the prime minister was stranded on the alleged flyover because of the blockade by farmers in Ferozepur after that he returned from Punjab without attending the event, including a rally.
The top yesterday has directed the Registrar General of the Punjab High Court and Haryana to provide all documents confiscated related to the security settings carried out by the Punjab government for PM visits.
Before the APEX court pointed to the committee, a central team had visited Ferozepur on January 7.
Even the Punjab government is a committee consisting of retirees of Justice Mehtab Singh Gill and the main secretary, Anurag Verma, to conduct an investigation.
Certain SC designated panels also included the Inspector General of the National Investigation Agency, Director General of Police, Chandigarh, Registrar General of the Punjab High Court and Haryana and DGP Additional Punjab Police.
