‘PM sent me money’: Humans refused to return Rs 5.5l to the bank, arrested

Patna: A 30-year-old man was arrested by the police in Khagaria District Bihar, Tuesday after he refused to return the 5.5 lakh Rs on the request that the money had been credited to his bank account with no other than PM Narendra Modi himself.
The money was credited to the account of one Ranjeet Das in Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank mistakenly in March last year.
When the bank authority realized the mistake, they contacted the watershed and asked him to immediately return the money.
DAS, a resident of Bakhtyar Village under the Mansi Police Station in Khagaria District, however, refused to return money even though there were several notifications.
He told the bank officials that he had spent the money.
“I am very happy when receiving a message on my cellphone that Rs 5.5 Lakh has been credited to my account.
It is a large amount for someone like me.
I think the money has been sent by PM Narendra Modi,” he said.

He said that PM Modi had promised to send RS 15 lakh each in a poor bank account.
“I think the amount credited to my account is the first installment of the total RS 15 Lakh promised by PM Modi during the election campaign in the previous Bihar,” said a tutor.
On August 17 this year, Mansi branch manager from Dakshin Bihar Gramin Bank, Satya Narayan Prasad, filed a shot against the watershed and seeking action against him.

House Officer (SHO) Station from the Mansi Police Station, Deepak Kumar, said that the watershed was booked based on part 406 (criminal violations of trust) IPC.

The bank has sent half a dozen notification to the DAS in the past year.
However, Sho is in a hurry to add that irregularities in the Bank section will also be examined.

A lawyer who trained at Patna High Court, Rajiv Ranjan Pandey, said that if he was considered guilty of the court, the defendant might be responsible for a prison sentence of three years or both.
