Lucknow: As part of the government’s massive public outreach program ahead of the assembly election of 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi transferred Rs 4,720 Crore to 2.36 Main Farmers Uttar Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi Yojana (PMKSY) on Monday.
Overall, Rs 19,500 Crore was transferred to more than 9.75 crore receiver farmers throughout the country.
The funds include Rs 2,000 for each farmer for the August-November period.
Modi has announced a scheme ahead of the 2019 General Election where RS 2,000 per quarter will be given to all eligible farmers.
PM interacts with five beneficiaries, which includes Shyamcharan Upadhyay from up’s KasGanj.
Upadhyay is the chairman of the farmer manufacturer organization and speaks to PM about ice and cold plants in areas that have helped increase farmers’ income.
“I have 517 members in my FPO.
With the help of the agricultural infrastructure funds, ice and cold factory established in our district and we save our products there until we get a good price for it.
It has helped maintain product quality and increase our income , “Upadhyay told PM.
After speaking to Him, PM said that the FPO was very useful and that for the past 6-7 years the government helped in creating an environmentally friendly system such as a chiller factory that would help in doubling farmers’ income.
The top government spokesman said that around 18 farmers had been given Rs 32,500 Crore since when the scheme began.
This includes farmers who have received funds for the first time.
The funds released by PM on Monday are ninth installments.
Likewise, more than 2 crore farmers are associated with the Pradhan Mantri Phasal Bima Yojana and the compensation of RS 2,208 Crore has been given to more than 25.6 farmers under this scheme.
Chairman of the Minister of Yogi Adityanath and other ministers attend this program virtually.
