Patna: Members of the Permanent Committee empowered by Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Thursday approved a proposal to transfer the land to urban development and the housing department (UDHD) for the implementation of the Patna Metro Rail project.
The proposal was filed at the 51st PMC committee meeting chaired by Mayor Sita Sahu here in front of the City Commissioner Himanshu Sharma and others.
The Civic’s body has agreed to provide an objection certificate to submit 3,866sqm from Land Mithapur Station, 587SQM on the Autorickshaw Stand near Patna Junction, 29.4SQM and 3,192.64SQM in Mithapur Bus Stand and 598SQM approaching Naghd transportation.
Sahu said Udhd previously sent a proposal, looking for city land for the construction of metro construction, lanes and other jobs carried out by Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC).
In a substitute, the Civic body has requested the same amount of land from the department, he said.
PMC has passed a proposal to spend RS 204 Crore allocated under the program center to combat air pollution and solid waste management and water supply management, at the 15th Finance Commission during the Fiscal Year 2020-21.
Around RS 20 Crore will be given to the Department of Transportation for the purchase of a compressed natural gas bus (CNG) and Rs 15 Crore to the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department to increase parks that are not organized in the city area.
As planned, the park will have a bench, children’s rides, lights, limit walls, and food kiosks.
Under the program, the water body will be rejuvenated as the recreation area.
The Civic body will also make sweeping machines, smoke weapons, fog sprayers and water sprinkler vehicles with the aim of improving air quality in the city.
The proposal to prepare a Lindi processing plant at the landfill location in Ramaya Bairiya to overcome the seepage problem during the rainy season is also continued.
Leachate is a black toxic liquid, a foul-smell that radiates from the rubbish that rots in a garbage dump and infiltrates down to pollute ground water is also irreversible.
“The Civic body will now have one secondary trash point in all circles – Azimabad, BankiPore, KankarBagh, new capital, Patliputra and Patna City.
There will be one secondary waste point for 2-3 wards to keep the city clean.

Overall, 29 proposals were approved at the meeting, including the installation of submersible pumps, high boring, litter selector machines, mini excavator machines, two animal crematoriums on the TPA site and five crematoriums in Ghatna in Patna City and Digha.
