Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is considering reintroducing the amnesty scheme for property tax trimmer.
It introduced last year’s scheme and recovered around RS500 Crore from absent.
“The previous scheme received a good response and high income was produced.
Civic’s body hopes to replicate the success of last year by discussing a similar scheme,” said Chairman of the Committee Hemant Rasana, told TII.
He said while the terms and conditions of the amnesty scheme are likely to be repeated, the last call at a discount must be taken.
75% discount for penalty can be offered.
According to Rasane, the Civic body has around 4.5 laha property tax, where around 1.5 lakh has cleaned their contributions.
Nearly 3 defraugter Lakh can expect to take advantage of the benefits of the scheme, if it is reintroduced.
Contributions of RS2,500 Crore are waiting.
The civil region has 11.26 Lakh properties, which is responsible for paying taxes.
The amount has been going on from around 9.26 lakh to 11.26 lakh after the merger of 23 villages.
Opposition parties have objected to the neglect of blankets in the previous scheme.
They demand RS50 Lakh hats so that the customs of offenders do not get improper benefits.
