Pune: The fixed Committee of the Civic body on Tuesday decided to extend the amnesty scheme for a service tax generator a month.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has introduced an amnesty scheme to absent property tax.
75% neglect on penalties will be given to absent if they pay retribution in this initiative.
Every property owner, the contribution to RS1Crore can participate in this initiative.
At the time of its introduction, commercial nature can benefit from the scheme, but the proposal was revised before its implementation and only the nature of housing which can now take advantage of its benefits.
“There is a request from property taxpayers to give more time to use the scheme.
So, the decision has been taken,” said Hemant Rasane, Chairman of the Committee.
Civil data shows that the civil area has 12 Lakh properties, which are responsible for paying taxes.
PMC has around 4.5 lakh defaulter property tax.
From them, around 1.5 lakh have cleaned their contributions.
Since being introduced on January 7, around 17,000 absenteeism has participated in the initiative.
The Civic body has received the RS485 Crore from the Amnesty scheme in the last fiscal.
PMC is expected to generate almost the same income from this scheme.
The scheme faced opposition from a group of selected members and civil activists.
They demand steps to avoid misuse of this scheme.
In another decision, the committee still decided to get drugs and other health related facilities.
They will be used for urban health schemes.
RS2Crore will be transferred from other civil works to make procurement.
Almost RS59LAKH will be transferred to build educational facilities for students from the backward class.
They can learn for competitive exams through this center.
