Patna: Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched a drive to fumigate and spray anti-larval drugs in all environments with a list of lists to control the spread of diseases borne by vectors during the rainy season during the rainy season.
The Ministry of Health is also alert because seven cases of dengue fever have been reported on Patna in the last few days.
Patna Civil Surgeon Dr.
Vibha Kumari Singh said three dengue cases were reported from Agamkuan and each of the Naubatpur, Phulwarisharif, Khagaul and Kankarbagh.
“Extensive fumigation through fogging machines held and installed in hand and managed by civilian bodies and district health teams in these areas,” he said.
Dr.
Singh added that chikungunya and malaria cases have not been reported in this district, but health workers have been vigilant.
“The potentially vulnerable area in the district has been identified as a breeding place for mosquitoes based on infection reported in previous years,” said Dr.
Singh.
This vulnerable area is Kankarbagh, Rajendra Nagar, Transport Nagar, Sampatchak, Phulwarisharif, Danapur, Pirbahore, Patliputra, Gai Ghat, Gardanibagh, Khajekalan, Shastri Nagar, Mahendru and Pathar Ki Mosque.
Patients who suffer from the symptoms of Dengue’s display such as high fever, body rash, low platelet count and loss of appetite.
Dengue is a viral infection that is transmitted by mosquitoes that spread to people through the mosquito bite of infected Aedes species.
Commissioner PMC Himanshu Sharma said the Civic’s body followed a list of anti-larval and fogging drug sprays throughout the year.
“Every area is covered once a week.
Civic’s body has two handheld fogging machines in each ward.
Also, there are 40 machines installed by vehicles that move from one ward to another ward based on the list.
Anti-larval medicine spray is also done to kill the virus in the water body , “he said.
Sharma said bleaching powder was also sprayed at vulnerable points where there was water stagnant.
There were 75 wards in six circles PMC – Azimabad, BankiPore, Kankarbagh, the new capital, Patliputra and Patna City.
Executive Officers Circle Cancerbagh said special steps had been taken in places close to waterways and agricultural land on bypass as mosquitoes breed in stagnant water.
