PMC panel approved a controversial proposal to hire e-cars

Pune: More than two months after it was filed, a controversial proposal for renting an electric car was approved by the Permanent Committee Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday.
Now, the Civic body will hire electronic vehicles for the use of staff and politicos everyday, spend around RS 23 Crore on the project.
38 e-cars must be taken for eight years.

According to estimation, the total project costs are Rs 23.28 Crore, where RS 21.95 Crore will be spent after the end of this financial year.
Public body PMC must assume the responsibility of this post-date expenditure.
In another decision on Tuesday, the citizenship administration plans to issue a tender for river bank development projects.
The RS 4,700 Crore project will be carried out with about 44 km from Riverfront.
Green lights have also been given to establish a blood bank for the Municipal Medical College.
