PUNE: The Covaxin drive, that was stopped for 2 days across regions under Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), will restart from Saturday onwards because the inventory was replenished on Thursday afternoon.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) may also keep its Covaxin push on Saturday.
On Thursday eveningthe district obtained 6,200 Covaxin dosages, where 3,700 doses have been dispersed between Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad civic bodies.
PCMC commissioner Rajesh Patil told TOI the Covaxin shots will be provided around eight vaccination websites, with each website offering 150 doses every day.
“We’re also offering Covishield vaccine for individuals aged over 45 over 57 vaccination websites.
Each website has 100 dosages of this Covishield vaccine,” he explained.
PCMC provides Covaxin around eight websites just for next dose beneficiaries.
The websites comprise Yamuna Nagar Hospital, Talera Hospital, Savitribai Phule School, Bhosari, New Jijamata Hospital, Acharya Atre Auditorium, Khivansara Patil Hospital, Thergaon, New Akurdi Hospital along with Kasarwadi Hospital.
A PMC official stated Covaxin shots will be treated to Saturday across its own civic limitations.
Sanjay Deshmukh, assistant manager (medical), Pune team, stated that more vaccine inventory is very likely to get there on Saturday to the district by the state authorities.
Last week, the district obtained Covaxin and Covishield inventory on Tuesday and Thursday.
Meanwhile, on Friday about 23,652 beneficiaries were vaccinated throughout the district in 245 websites.
Back in PMC limits, 18,209 individuals were vaccinated, nearly all of whom paid to get their shot in private hospitals.
Approximately 10,416 beneficiaries on Friday were vaccinated at the 18-44 age group.
On Friday, 21,342 Covishield shots and 2,310 Covaxin shots were administered throughout the district.
The paid roadside force was started in Nanded town on Friday.
