PMC redrawes the political map to add 17 new panels

Pune: People’s representation at Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) After civilian elections will now be together 173 Corporators – nine more than those chosen in the current Civic body – under the new three-ward panel system, the planned plan of environmental restrictions announced on Tuesday.
The next Civic Agency will have a total of 58 election panels, 17 more than 41 panels in 2017.
The three canporators will be selected from 57 panels while one panel, baner-sus-mhalenge, will be represented by two canporators.
A total of 162 corporators were chosen in the last civil polls in 2017 for 41 panels.
The four corporators were selected from 39 panels and three were selected from two panels.
Two more corporations were added after the merger of 11 suburban villages in the same year, taking the power of Corporators to 164.
23 other villages combined with PMC limits in 2020 made it the largest civil body in the state, region.
According to the design of the PMC Ward boundary design announced on Tuesday, a total of 23 panels will be provided for the scheduled and two-scheduled Castes (SC) candidates for the scheduled tribe (ST).
148 seats are available for the general category.
Women’s candidates will be able to compete from 87 seats booked.
The Jerawada panel was the largest with 71,390 temporary voters Baner-Sus-Mhaleung with 37,589 voters were the smallest.
All other panels have more than 50,000 voters.
Residents have until February 14 to provide their suggestions and objections to the planned plan of environmental restrictions.
Political parties began to make claims to get a majority vote in the upcoming Civic poll immediately after the announcement.

The average number of voters for the three-ward panel is 61,679, while 41,119 for the two-ward panel.
The highest count of voters for the three-ward panel system is 67,847 and the lowest is 55,511 .
The highest count of voters for the two-ward panel is 45,231, while the lowest is 37,007.
