PMC starts a structural audit of the Jumbo CoEP unit

Pune: Operation at the College of Engineering, Pune (CO-EP) tends to continue because the Civic’s body recently started the structural audit of the facility.
The contract for hospitals has ended on July 15.
Structural stability Facilities will be checked and enhanced based on auditor advice.
Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has stopped receiving to the Jumbo unit, but decided that the facility must continue because of the possibility of the third wave.
“The Jumbo facility utility is discussed at a meeting.
Chosen members, including the district guard ministers, argue that the Jumbo unit must continue to be there.
Unpacking will not serve any purpose and if we have to rebuild the unit it will be expensive.
So it’s like now, us argues that the unit must remain, “said Siddharth Shirole, MLA from the Shivajinagar constituency.
PMC officials said requests for beds, oxygen and beds supported by ventilators went down in July.
So, empty facilities are closed.
Now, companies that operate facilities can be told to continue their contract.
But, the final decision has not been taken.
“The process of conducting structural audits has begun.
This report is expected in a few days.
Decisions about the possibility of improvement and hospital operations will be taken after receiving a report,” said Ravindra Binwade, an additional commissioner of PMC.
Jumbo unit has a capacity of 800 beds.
From them, 700 was occupied during the peak of the second wave.
