PATNA: Four brand new modular surgery theaters (OTs) connected to some 30-bed ward setup with all the funds furnished by the state government became more usable from the surgical emergency section of Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on Tuesday.
While two of those OTs were also designated for general operation, one had been indicated for orthopaedic and yet another for septic diseases such as Hepatitis B and HIV.
PMCH superintendent Doctor I S Thakur mentioned to be the biggest government hospital of this country, a great number of operative emergency instances, be it street accidents or accidents because of other motives, is listed at the Indira Gandhi fundamental casualty of this hospital each day from throughout the country.
“Many of the situations need immediate operative interventions.

A fresh operative intensive care unit (ICU) connected to some 10-bed ward using centralised air-conditioning , color doppler, ECG and other contemporary equipment has also been usable in the PMCH.
“In most severe cases, patients need to be stored in ICU following surgeries.
The new centre can help these patients,” Dr Thakur added.
A new medical and clinical evaluation hall setup from MBBS and postgraduate students was likewise declared open from the PMCH.
