Pune: The Metropolitan Pune area continues to add more Covid-19 (1,050) cases compared to recovery (898) on Saturday, pushing the active case to 9,089.
The rural area and Canton together add 613 cases on Saturday.
The PMC area reported 244 new patients, while the PCMC limit added 193 cases of Covid-19.
The area for the fifth consecutive day adds more cases than recovery.
Health officials said daily testing increased in the region for the past few days.
On Saturday, as many as 30,495 samples were examined in PMR, including more than 15,200 tests carried out in the rural part.
More than 9,300 samples were tested within the PMC and 5,900 limits in the Pimpri Chinchwad area.
For two consecutive days, this region has tested more than 30,000 samples.
Ten more patients gave up on the infection in PMR on Saturday, including five deaths from the PMC limit, four of the rural areas and one from the Pimpri Chinchwad area.
This region has so far reported 18,656 deaths due to infection.
A report released by the District Health Office on Saturday night stated that among 9,089 active cases in the region, 5,277 came from rural areas, 2,289 from PMC limits and more than 1,400 from the Pimbri Chinchwad region.
