Pune: Only 30,299 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the Metropolitan Pune (PMR) in August – the lowest calculation in the past six months or since the second pandemic surge began in March.
The area has added 34,000 cases in July and more than 37,300 in June.
“There has been a constant decrease in the monthly addition of Covid-19 cases over the past four months.
In April, the area has added more than 3 lakh patients,” said a health official.
Data by the District Health Office has revealed that August records more recovery compared to the addition of new patients.
“With this, August has become the third month so far in 2021 recorded more release of Covid-19 patients as opposed to the addition of new cases.
Two other months are January and June,” said health officials, quoting data.
