Pune: A total of 4,103 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in the Pune Metropolitan area (PMR) on Tuesday compared with 11,027 patient recovery, which reduced the number of active cases to 52,265.
It was for the second day that the area recorded less than 5,000 cases, indicating fading the third wave.
Among new cases, Pune City area recorded 2,075, followed by the limit of Civic Pimpri Chinchwad (1,125) and rural areas (903).
The recovery, PMC limit saw 5,271 release, followed by the PCMC (3,570) limit and rural parts (2,186).
A report released by Health Officers Bhagwan Pawar stated that 19,596 samples were tested in the region on Tuesday.
Of these, more than 8,700 samples came from the PMC area and around 6000 from the PCMC limit.
Among 52,265 cases in PMR, as many as 50,140 were in house isolation and 2,125 were treated in various hospitals.
The area recorded 15 deaths again because of infection on Tuesday.
While nine patients gave up on infection at PMC limits, two in the PCMC area and four in the rural part.
Health officials said most of the deceased had a commorbid condition.
