Pune: The number of people who tested positive Covid-19 jumped to 1,479 in the Pune Metropolitan area on Wednesday for increased testing.
In June, 37,392 people were tested positive for PMR infection compared to almost 1.75 lakh in May.
The PMC area added 508 new cases in the last 24 hours, while rural areas added 682 cases and Pimpri Chinchwad recorded 282 infections.
The recovery, 812 people were dismissed at PMR on Wednesday, including 266 recovery within the PMC limit, 49 in the PCMC area and 497 in the countryside and Canton.
With this, the calculation of positive cases has increased above 10.51lakh, while the release has reached 10.23 lakh.
A total of 20,710 samples were tested in the region on Wednesday, maintaining its prospective level at 7.1% for that day.
More than 9,100 tests were carried out in rural areas and Cantonese.
The PMC area and PCMC examined 6,707 and 4,898 samples, respectively, on Wednesday.
This region reported 17 deaths again due to infection on Wednesday.
Five patients died within the PMC limit, three in the PCMC area and nine in rural areas and Cantonese.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases in this region increased to 9,976 after increasing in everyday cases.
As many as 5,647 patients were treated in various hospitals, while 4,329 patients were in house isolation.
The active kasel in the PMC limit has increased exceeding 2,500.
Rural areas recorded more than 5,900 active patients, while the calculation of active cases within the PCMC limit was at 1,368.
Experts say occupants need to comply with the corresponding behavior of Covid to keep the spread beneath the check.
“Vaccination, masks and social distance are the only tools we have to put on diseases and people should not let their guard still think that these cases are in the decline.
We should not repeat the mistake,” said a health professional.
