Mumbai: “The Pocso Law applies for special reasons to protect children from sexual violence and abuse cannot be allowed,” said Judge Special Pocso Bharti Kale, Monday.
The special court observed that someone depends on thinking that if there is no CCTV footage, eight accused – principal, teacher and pekumun from the city school – will be asked to go through prosecution of serious violations under the Pocsoct.
The court received a police summary report, covering a case where the father of a student mistakenly accused him sexually attacked at the principal’s office.
“The police need to carry out a thorough investigation to rule out the false implications of innocent people so they are not made to undergo trial trials and investigations because their entire life is mentally, physically and financially,” the court said.
