Thane: The Session Thane Court freed a 21-year-old boy from Kolhapur, accused of kidnapping and raping a little girl in 2018 because she did not support the story of prosecution that failed to prove the charges.
Special Pocso Judge Kavita D Shirbhate observed that prosecution had failed to prove the allegations of kidnapping and rape and also under Pocso’s actions against the alleged accused.
The prosecution surrendered that during the alleged incident, the victim was 17 years old and lived in Kalwa.
On December 31, 2018, the victim’s father filed a lost complaint.
It was stated that on January 4, 2019, he was found in Virar and sent for medical examinations.
The victim’s relatives then registered a violation in the story of the defendant, the prosecutor told the court.
During a cross examination, the girl denied fir and did not support prosecution.
