New Delhi: The leader of the Shashi Tharoor Congress, who is known for his fondness for English words that are rarely used, send Twitter who ran for their dictionary on Friday with other scratch heads – Pogonotrophy.
Tharoor said he learned the new word pogonotophy, which means growth or planting beard, from a friend.
He also used the word to dig the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Twitter users reached out to Tharoor, saying he was waiting to learn new words and former Union ministers quickly to obey.
“My friend Ratin Roy, economists, taught me a new word today: pogonotrophy, which means ‘bearing bearing’.
Like, Pogonotrophy PM has become a premium pandemic …,” he said in a tweet.
Tharoor Tweets leave many marks with Twitter users say, “If the world has an Oxford dictionary why doesn’t India have a Tharur (SIC) dictionary?” “Thank you for sharing this from Tharoooo Manusionararyar,” another user said.
This was not the first time Tharoor had sent Twitter to run for their dictionary.
In May, Tharoor was involved in friendly banter with the President TRS working K rama Rao on behalf of Covid-19 medicine and threw towards another head – floccinukinikiniki.
The Oxford dictionary describes flocinaukinikiniki as an action or habit of estimating something worthless.
Tharoor has become a man with many words before too.
In the past, he had confused people with English words that were rarely used like “Farrago” and “troglodyte”.
While Farrago means a mixture of confused, troglodyte means someone who is considered intentionally or ancient.
Tharoor has also started a new weekly column with words in the weekend magazine ‘Khaleej Times’ from Dubai.
