Pointing on ‘Fundamental Problems’ in Deal, CPM RS MP Notifies the Government to reconsider Cel Privatization

New Delhi: CPM Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas has written to the Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Jitendra Singh asks them to reconsider the sale of public sector companies proposed by Electronics Limited (CEL) to private entities on existing reasons “fundamental issues” staring at the agreement.
In his letter on January 13 to the ministers, Brittas believed that C Cel was maintained by the Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) and the laboratory of the Research and Defense Development Organization (DRDO) and is now sold for the trivial number of RS 210 Crores.
to private financial intermediaries without managerial knowledge or cell technology.
“Sales Cel implies that reducing a very valuable asset base from the government for a small number of companies that can change their role to harm national interests.
High claims to consider sales as a source of non-inflation fiscal resources for budgets is wrong, because such arguments are not Valid, “said Brittas, added that there were more” benign and effective ways “to improve additional fiscal resources rather than selling strategic public companies that generate profits.
Referring to the concern of the scientific community sold by Cel will eventually “destroy and dismantle the company, MP CPM added that the government has recognized the strategic role of CY in the nation’s development both at Lok Sabha and as mentioned by reporting parliamentary standing committees and technology.
“Because private entities who buy public assets will increase most of the resources needed from public sector banks, the decision to mobilize resources through the privatization of public assets is a disabled policy choice for the nation,” Brittas also to the allegations that 99.96 % of the equity of private companies held by furniture companies.
“If this is true, we cannot ignore allegations that the government proposes to sell strategic PSU, has consequences in the defense sector as well, indirectly to furniture companies,” he added.
