Poland said the Belarus border crisis might be the beginning for “something worse”

Warsaw / Vilnius: Poland Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki warned on Sunday that the migrant crisis on the Belarus border might be the introduction for “something far worse”, and the Polish border guard said Belarusian forces were still carrying migrants to the border.
The European Union accused Belarus flying in thousands of people from the Middle East and encouraged them to cross to the European Union and members of NATO Poland, Lithuania and Latvia, in response to European sanctions.
Minsk, who denied the crisis, cleared a migrant camp near the border on Thursday and began repatriating several people to Iraq, while Poland and Lithuania reported a lower number of efforts to cross their borders in the past few days.
But Morawiecki warned the crisis far from a few moments as he toured Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia on Sunday to discuss the situation.
A poll published by Rzeczpospolita Poland every day on Sunday said 55% of the poles worried that the crisis on the border could increase to be armed conflict.
“I think things are revealed before our eyes, this dramatic event, may only be a far worse start,” Morawiecki said in Vilnius.
He pointed to improve the presence of the Russian military close to Ukraine, as well as in Belarus and Russian Kaliningrad bags bordering Poland and Lithuania, as “instruments that can be used directly for direct attacks”.
The situation in Afghanistan after the Taliban took over “can be used as the next stage of the migration crisis,” Morawiecki said.
Call to support Prime Minister Lithuania Ingrida Simonyte warned European partners not to ignore Belarus neighbors, after German Chancellor Angela Merkel twice named Lukashenko was looking for a solution for a humanitarian crisis.
“For us, it is very important that every conversation (with Belarus) is coordinated with Lithuania, Poland and Latvia, who is at the forefront of the hybrid attack, and there is no decision taken that does not resolve the situation fundamentally”, he said after meeting Morawiecki on the day Sunday.
French Foreign Minister said on Sunday that Russia had to put pressure on its allies, Belarus, to end the migrant crisis.
Forcibly brought to the Poland border, said Minsk continued to transport hundreds of strangers to the border, where around 10 migrants were believed to have died with cold winter settings.
“On Saturday …
a group of very aggressive strangers, was taken to the border by the Belarusians, trying to enter Poland forcibly,” said the border guard on Twitter on Sunday.
A dozen migrants from Iraq, talked to the Lithuanian Delfi news portal on the border with Belarus on Saturday, said they were forcibly taken there in military trucks by Belarus officials, who ignored their desires to return to Iraq.
Hundreds of poles took part in protests on Saturday to demand assistance for migrants.
The Catholic Church organizes fundraising on Sundays to raise money for those who need on the border and support the integration of refugees who will live in Poland.
