Warsaw: A government official said that Poland would temporarily host around 500 Afghan refugees who had worked for NATO in Afghanistan.
Michal Dworczyk said Friday that Afghans would remain in Poland for up to three months before moving to another country.
Depending on their choice, up to 50 people will be able to settle in Poland.
However, Poland has not become a popular destination in Europe for migrants.
DWORCZYK, Aide Top Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, said on RMF FM radio that the first group of around 250 people will arrive on Friday from NATO airbase in Ramstein, Germany.
Separately, Poland has evacuated around 1,300 people from Kabul, mostly Afghanistan, who has worked with Polish military and diplomatic missions, and their families and said they would be responsible for them.
