New Delhi: Cyber cells from Delhi police arrested 14 cyber fraudsters from Jamtara in Jharkhand on Tuesday.
They operate a large racket in Jamtara, Deoghar, Giridih, & Jatui.
“We have launched the ‘Cyber Prahar’ Part 2, targeting the Indian Cyber Hotspot,” Anyesh Roy, police deputy supervisor, said Cyber Cell Delhi, according to Ani.
The Masterminds of the Cybercrime Racket is Altaf Ansari aka ‘Rockstar’ & Gulam Ansari aka ‘Master Ji’.
Altaf has so many callers below it.
He made people in place from where he operated to oversee any possible police movements.
The defendant was mainly used to commit fraud related to UPI payment.
These fraudsters indicate victims to make payments through UPI by disguising or using technology on behalf of KYC, or blocking bank accounts or SIM cards, said Anyesh Roy.
According to the police, these fraudsters have increased the use of technology in the past.
Previously, they were used to call victims randomly and request bank details.
They no longer use this method.
They make a temporary website and send bulk messages that contain short URLs.
14 The arrested fraudsters are associated with 36 cases reported in the National Cyber Reporting Portal of nine states.
They cheated around RS 1.2 Crore in this 36 cases.
They claim to cheat four-five people every day.
