New Delhi: Three people were arrested by the Branch of Delhi Polda Crimes for allegedly supplying heroin in the national capital, officials said on Sundays.
As many as 1.1kg of good quality heroin worth more than Rs 2 Crore in the international market seized during operation.
The defendant has been identified as a lawy chand (45) and Rohit (32), both the residents of Sultanpuri here, and Shahid Khan (58), a resident of Bakeilly District Uttar Pradesh, police officials said.
The first arrest was carried out on August 16 after the police received a tip-off that will come near Dhan Dhan Satguar Park in Sultanpuri to supply Heroin, a senior police officer said.
Traps were placed near the place and chand, which came on the scooter, was arrested.
One kg of heroin recovered from his scooter, Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Chinmoy Balmal.
During interrogation, Chand revealed that he had bought Heroin from Rohit, he said.
On August 18, Rohit was arrested from the Sultanpuri area.
The car was confiscated and 100g heroin recovered from him, said DCP.
During the investigation, Rohit revealed that he had bought 2kg heroin from Khan, the police said.
It was found that Khan was arrested by empty police with 20kg heroin on August 18 and was in prison since then.
The case was registered against him at the East Fatehank Police Station in Bareilly, they said.
On September 1, Khan was arrested by Delhi police and was taken here for an investigation, said Bal.
Khan revealed that he was a heroin producer and his relatives and other colleagues helped him with his work, the police said.
Raids are being carried out in Bareilly and other parts of Uttar Pradesh to arrest their colleagues, they said.
