A total of 92 arrests related to football were made in England’s home match during the 2020-21 season, including 90 in the European Championship, the home office said in a statement on Thursday.
The English Football Association assigned independent reviews to see interference during the 2020 euro title against Italy at Wembley on July 11.
The final, won by Italy in penalties, was damaged by the battle between fans and officials inside and around the stadium.
British police conducted several arrests and said 19 officers were injured after a ticket fan violated Cordons security before the match.
The home office figures show that of 90 arrests related to football made at Euro 2020, 39 were in the Italian match, 28 in the match against Scotland and 18 in the semi-final against Denmark.
“There were six arrests related to further football involving the international team playing at Euro 2020 at Wembley.
Sixth happened in Italy and Spanish matches,” added the statement.
The UEFA European Football Management Agency said it had appointed an ethical and disciplined inspector to investigate the chaos outside Wembley.
The British media reported that UEFA could announce his decision early next week with England potentially ordered to play home matches without supporters present.
