Police Assam on ‘Spree Meeting’: Complaints submitted with NHRC

Guwahati: The Delhi-based lawyer from Assam has submitted a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) against the Assam police for a series of meetings that have occurred since the LED Government Himanta Buswa Sarma took over two months ago.
He also urged the right of the right to take awareness and institutionalize the investigation into these incidents.
Arif Jwadder in his complaint on the rights bodies on Saturday said the criminals ‘small time’ were shot by the police and the reasons cited for “fake meetings” as it was that they tried to “escape from police detention after taking weapons”.
Indicates that more than 20 such meetings have occurred recently, Jwadder said in his complaint that most people at the end of the recipient were suspected of drug dealers and livestock smugglers.
He added that some of them had died in a place which was a “human rights violation”.
